Chauhan has been producing site specific interventions in both rural and urban of environments in England and India since 1999. She produces work that is usually photographed and the image of the event is then exhibited.

"My work explores a wide range of issues, including: territory and ownership, femininity and sexual identity, gender roles, cultural roles, escape, fear, utopian ideals, abandonment and entrapment. It also explores external roles and internal spaces and questions our perceptions of reality."
